ServeGR connects you with meaningful volunteer opportunities in your community. We’ve all got something to offer, and sometimes it’s just a matter of knowing where to begin.
ServeGR was started by Westminster Presbyterian Church, which has lived and served in downtown Grand Rapids for more than 150 years. Founded by abolitionists when it wasn’t the popular thing to do, Westminster has a progressive history of advocating for social justice.
Everyone has ideas about what church is or isn’t, and that’s okay. This is what church looks like to Westminster: welcoming Heartside neighbors inside to rest and grab a cup of coffee during the day; housing a food pantry; connecting people to quality mental healthcare; running the only local daycare with sliding-scale tuition for all lower-income families; and serving as a founding partner at a one-of-its-kind grocery store to address food insecurity in Grand Rapids.
But serving a community by volunteering certainly isn’t unique to churches. It’s something we all do together, as citizens of this world that we want to make a better place. And it starts with people like you.
