Is This the Right Fit for Me?
You like working “behind the scenes” and putting some power tools to use. You’re welcome to put on some headphones and get to assembling, or you can pair up with another volunteer at a station to put pieces together as a team. You don’t have to flex any creative muscles, as it’s more of an assembly-line setup. It helps if you have a general idea of when you can come to assemble, but it’s flexible with your schedule and availability.

What Others are Saying
"I still remember my first day at Home Repair Services as a volunteer. Walking into the cabinet shop with the staff, I immediately formed several impressions: this place is really organized for the tasks at hand, the facility offers so much purposeful work space, and the available tools in the cabinet shop are awesome."Jim

What to Expect
Contact Mike to let him know you’d like to help assemble cabinetry in the Cabinet Shop. He’ll invite you to visit Home Repair Services’ office, and you’ll learn about their programs and tour the facility. A 45-minute assembly training typically takes place on your first shift, and it’s okay if you need a refresher on how to use power tools. The cabinet shop is open for you to visit Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and you can let Mike know what hours work best for your half-day shift.
