Home Fix-It Instructor

You’ll teach basic home repair skills and “rookie renovator” remodeling classes to local homeowners seeking to repair and improve their own homes. You’ll be teaching hands-on classes as a part of the Fix-It School, a housing laboratory at Home Repair Services. The classes cover basic repairs and improvements in areas like plumbing, electrical, general maintenance, cabinet installation, ceramic tile, and drywall repair. All classes are free and open to the public; they are held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Spanish-speaking instructors are a particular need at this time.

Is This the Right Fit for Me?

You have a knack for teaching people. You like finding a way to impart knowledge to someone in a way they understand, and you especially love to do that with hands-on learning! At the very least, you’ve got a solid book knowledge about the areas you’ll cover, and you’re willing to keep learning alongside people. You know even an expert has more to learn. You’re approachable, understandable, and enthusiastic about empowering people to excel at their own home projects.
